The
aircraft grade aluminum 2024 is a typical hard aluminum alloy in the aluminum-copper-magnesium system. Its composition is reasonable and its overall performance is good. Many countries produce this alloy, which is the largest amount of hard aluminum. The alloy is characterized by high strength, a certain degree of heat resistance, and can be used as a working part below 150°C. 2024 aluminum alloy with a density of 2.85 g/cm3.
Aircraft grade aluminum 2024 strength is higher than the 7075 aluminum alloy. The thermal properties, annealing and new quenching conditions are all better, and the heat treatment strengthening effect is significant, but the heat treatment process is demanding. The corrosion resistance is poor, but it can be effectively protected by coating with pure aluminum. It is easy to produce cracks during welding, but it can be welded or riveted by special processes. Widely used in aircraft structures, rivets, wheel hubs, propeller components and other structural components.
Aircraft grade aluminum 2024 is widely used in aircraft structures (skin, skeleton, ribs, bulkheads, etc.), rivets, missile components, wheel hubs, propeller components and various other structural components.
