2618 alloy is a heat-resistant deformed aluminum alloy which can be heat strengthened. Its working temperature can reach 250 ℃. It is used to manufacture the stressed structural parts of supersonic aircraft, such as fuselage, wing skin frame and tail wing, which work for a long time under 150 ℃; the low-speed aircraft parts and components whose working temperature is not higher than 150 ℃ are used for the jet engine parts whose working temperature is not higher than 250 ℃.
 
2618 alloy is alcumg aluminum alloy, which is high-strength forged aluminum with high plasticity in hot state and is easy to forge, punch; Aluminum 2618 forging forged rolled Ring can be strengthened by heat treatment, and its strength after quenching and artificial aging is similar to that of duralumin; it has good process performance but extrusion effect, so its longitudinal and transverse properties are different; it has good corrosion resistance, but tends to intergranular corrosion; it has good machinability, resistance welding, spot welding, seam The welding performance is good, and the performance of arc welding and gas welding is not good. Poor in annealed condition. Because of the low corrosion resistance, anodizing and painting methods are often used or aluminum coating is added on the surface to improve the corrosion resistance.

● heat treatment specification for 2618 aluminum alloy:
 
1) Homogenization annealing: heating at 480-495 ℃, holding at 12-14h, furnace cooling.
 
2) Complete annealing: heating 390-430 ℃; holding time 30-120min; furnace cooling to 300 ℃, air cooling.
 
3) Rapid annealing: heating 350-370 ℃; holding time 30-120min; air cooling.
 
4) Quenching and aging [1]: quenching 495-505 ℃, water cooling; artificial aging 185-195 ℃, 6-12h, air cooling; natural aging: room temperature 96h.
