7A09 Aluminum round square bar rod belongs to Al-Zn-Mg-Cu superhard aluminium. It has good plasticity after solution treatment, excellent heat treatment strengthening effect, high strength below 150 C, and excellent low temperature strength; poor welding performance; stress corrosion cracking tendency; it needs to be coated with aluminium or other protective treatment. Dual aging can improve the stress corrosion cracking resistance of the alloy. The plasticity under annealing and hardening is slightly lower than that under the same condition of 2A12. It is slightly better than 7A04. The static fatigue of the sheet is sensitive to notches and the stress corrosion resistance is better than 7A04.
7A09 Aluminum round square bar rod, which has been used in aircraft manufacturing since the late 1940s, is still widely used in aviation industry as a super high strength deformed aluminium alloy.
