7150 alloy is the second generation modification of 7050 alloy. The main varieties are thick plates and profiles. The service states are T7751 and T77511. Compared with other 7*** alloys, 7150 T77 alloy has the best combination of strength and corrosion properties.
The structure and mechanical properties of
7150-T7751 aerospace aluminum plate sheet with different thickness layers are obviously different, and it is not caused by macrosegregation of composition; the mechanical properties of thick plate are anisotropic, and the characteristics of anisotropy of different thickness layers are different. The longitudinal strength of center layer of plate is significantly greater than that of transverse layer, and the 1/4 thickness layer of plate is not only its longitudinal strength. The directional strength of 7150-T7751 alloy is the smallest and less than its transverse strength; the rolling deformation degree of the central layer of the plate is small, but the texture after solution aging is strong; when the coarse and long recrystallized grains with suitable texture match the fine equiaxed grains, higher strength can be obtained along the direction of the length of the coarse grains.
