The alloying element of
2024-T3 Aluminum Sheet is copper, which is called duralumin, which has high strength and good cutting performance, but poor corrosion resistance. However, it can be effectively protected by covering with pure aluminum; it is easy to produce cracks during welding, but it can be welded or riveted by special technology.
The T3 state is cold working after solution heat treatment, and then natural aging to a basically stable state. It is suitable for products that are cold worked or straightened or leveled to improve strength after solution heat treatment.
2024 T3 Aluminum Sheet is characterized by high strength and certain heat resistance, which can be used as working parts below 150°C. At temperatures higher than 125°C, the strength of 2024 alloy is higher than that of 7075 alloy. The heat treatment, annealing and new quenching conditions have better forming properties, and the heat treatment strengthening effect is significant, but the heat treatment process requirements are strict. The corrosion resistance is poor, but it can be effectively protected by covering with pure aluminum; it is easy to produce cracks during welding, but it can be welded or riveted by special technology.
